These are heirloom tomatoes. I heard that the seeds will not grow green zebras. Is this true of heirloom tomatoes?

Growing tomato plants in containers is a great way to garden if you don’t have the space. Tomato plants growing in a pot on the porch or patio can produce just as many tomatoes as a garden and it’s a great recipe for successful, tasty and juicy tomatoes.

I recently received a bag with an assortment of seeds – flowers (annuals & perinials) and vegetables. Before I plant, I need to know if these are actually still good. Do seeds have a “shelf life?” Some packages have dates stamped on them.

Many gardeners prefer to grow their tomatoes from seeds instead of replanting seedlings. For them, they feel that they have better control over the environment of their tomato plants. Some feel that seedlings may be subject to the pests and chemicals found at the nurseries in which they were grown.

At least 3 months. It’ll take longer if the weather goes cool on you. Tomatoes love warm temperatures and plenty of water.

here is a link to an heirloom tomato company site that gives you the number of days from planting to fruiting you can expect for a Bunch of heirlooms scroll down the list and find the types that you are growing
it will give you an estimate but keep in mind that growing conditions, soil quality, pollinators, temperature etc will have an effect on the speed and size that your tomatoes will ultimately attain.
